About Me
Hello, my name is Dr. Rosie Powling. I am a Registered Clinical Psychologist and Chartered Psychologist with over 20 years’ experience studying and working in the field of Psychology. Since completing my undergraduate degree in Applied Psychology in 2006, I have trained and worked in various roles across the NHS and private organisations in primary, secondary and specialist mental health services. As well as running Valley Psychology, I also work part-time as Clinical Lead on the postgraduate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) diploma programme at the University of Exeter.
I have worked with many people from all walks of life affected by a wide range of emotional, mental health, and wellbeing issues. I have extensive experience in providing psychological therapy for individuals and families (in one-to-one and group formats), providing supervision, consultation, teaching and training, leading and managing teams, service development, and conducting high-quality research and evaluation.
I truly value a compassionate, collaborative and inclusive approach in my evidence-based practice. Whether I am working with individuals, families, organisational systems or communities, my aim is to collaborate with people to make sense of their situation in a safe, non-judgmental environment, and help empower them to make meaningful changes.
I am fully insured, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), chartered with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and accredited by the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). I complete regular training and Continuing Professional Development, alongside supervision of my clinical work.
