Psychological Therapy

I offer face-to-face and online therapy for mental health, emotional and wellbeing issues. I have worked with many people from all walks of life affected by a wide range of difficulties, helping them to feel more calm, confident and in control of their wellbeing. I have a special interest in working with issues around anxiety (including social anxiety, phobias and health anxiety), both military and non-military trauma, and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Additionally, I have significant experience in working with low mood and depression, low self esteem and low confidence, stress, sleep difficulties, voice-hearing, and psychosis. I have completed some specialist training in concussion, enabling me to provide psychological interventions for people who have experienced concussion, as part of a holistic care package alongside my physical health colleagues. Predominantly, I work with adults across the lifespan (aged 18+ years).

Clinical Psychologists are trained to draw upon and integrate a range of therapeutic approaches, integrating both science (‘what works’ according to research) and innovation to develop therapy that is tailored to the individual. As such, I offer psychological therapy based on a collaborative understanding of your difficulties, drawing upon a range of approaches including cognitive behavioural, systemic and psychodynamic models. I find Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing, Compassion Focused Therapy, Schema Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy particularly helpful in my work with people.

Therapy will be individualised for you and in collaboration with you, based around your hopes and goals for therapy. Working together, we will make sense of your situation, which will both deepen your understanding of the distress and enable us to find ways to support you to manage or recover from your difficulties. Ultimately, my aim is to empower you to be your own therapist, so you no longer need to see me and can live a life manageable and meaningful for you.
